Points of Support Program – Small Grants, Big Ideas | Public Invitation for the 7th Cycle

10 Greek non-profit institutions join forces once again to support Civil Society and announce a Public Call for participation in the 7th cycle of the “Points of Support” Program, coordinated by the Bodosaki Foundation.

The Program aims to support small organizations of civil society, by funding the implementation of small-scale original actions that produce a great social impact, as well as offering training and capacity building that will contribute to their sustainability.

The institutions participating in the new cycle of the Program, which started in 2015 and has financed 157 actions with more than 50,000 beneficiaries, are the Ioannis S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, the Bodosaki Foundation, the Captain Vassilis & Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation, the A. G. Leventis Foundation, the Athanasios K. Laskaridis Public Benefit Foundation, the Costas M. Lemos Foundation, the Public Beneficial Foundation of Social and Cultural Project KIKPE, The Hellenic Initiative Canada, the Athena I. Martinou Foundation and the Helidoni Foundation.

For the 7th cycle of the Program, the participating institutions will support up to 36 actions with a fund of ten thousand euros (€10,000) each, and for a period of up to 8 months. The supported actions must fall under one of the following themes, which have been determined by the funders of the program:

  1. Social Integration for people with disabilities (Latsis Foundation )
  2. Child and Health (Captain Vassilis & Carmen Konstantakopoulos Foundation)
  3. Prevention and Promotion of Adult Health (KIKPE Nonprofit Foundation for Social and Cultural Projects)
  4. Combating Poverty and the Food Crisis (The Hellenic Initiative Canada)
  5. Environmental Protection:
    i. Protection of Flora and Fauna in the Urban Environment (A. G. Leventis Foundation)
    ii.Protection of Aquatic Ecosystems: Seas, Lakes, Rivers and Wetlands (Athanassios K. Laskaridis Foundation)
    iii. Protection of Forest and Other Terrestrial Ecosystems (Costas M. Lemos Foundation)
  6. Social Innovation in Small Coastal Local Societies (Athina I. Martinou Foundation)
  7. Sustainable Cities and Communities (Helidoni Foundation)

Eligible organizations must meet the following conditions (for more details see Terms and Conditions for Participation in the Program):

  1. Be non-profit legal entities based in Greece (foundations, unions, clubs, AMKE, etc.), or Social Cooperative Enterprises (Coun.S.Ep.) of article 14 of Law 4430/2016.
  2. Have an annual total gross income from all sources (taxable – tax-free) of up to 50,000 euros in the 2023 tax year, as evidenced by any official accounting document (e.g. balance sheet, account statement, balance sheet).
  3. To be established  at least one (1) year as a legal entity in Greece at the time of the announcement of the Public Invitation [that is, for the seventh (7th) cycle they have been established prior to February 26, 2023].
  4. Not belong to the State or to local governmental organizations, not to be legal entities under public law or legal entities of the wider public sector, as defined each time by the legislative provisions in force, and in general not to fall under the jurisdiction or supervision of Public and that their action does not have a religious, political or union-professional nature.

In addition to the funding, the Program includes free access to sessions in capacity building activities for the organizations, which will be financed and implemented by the Bodosaki Foundation, through Social Dynamo, the NGO hub of the Bodosaki Foundation.

The application period ends on 30 April 2024, at 17:00 (UTC). Results will be announced in July 2024.

The launch event for the Program will take place on Monday, March 11, at 14:00, at the Cultural Center of the Benaki Museum (138 Piraeus & Andronikou Street). Register here.
