Forests in Greece, Evolution and Present Condition

Join us for the second instalment of our speaker series Greece, Land of Diversity.

In partnership with the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, HSPN’s President and Nature photographer Nikos Petrou will introduce us to the National Parks and Forests of the Greek landscape.

Through his captivating imagery, we will be transferred to the dense foliage of the Greek forests, which vary greatly in type and flora varieties from area to area, and we will be introduced to the story of how they evolved to the state they are today. We will then be presented with the amazing biodiversity they host and the threats they face from climate change, pollution, and human interference, followed by a discussion on opportunities and plans to ensure their preservation.
